Vday post

Well, everyone's doing a Vday post right? So I guess I'd better. ;)

Yesterday, my darling husband bought me flowers and a card (a card that had as much of his own writing as the card's writing, a good mark in my mind). They were a dozen (one short he found out afterwards) plus white lilies. It looks lovely on our dining room table.

I made him a candlelit dinner, a butter garlic sauce pasta with parmesan and steamed broccoli with strawberries and cream for dessert. We fed each other the strawberries. (It's just more fun that way isn't it?) I dressed up a lil as well, which I think he appreciated. I was going to buy him a card as well, but there wasn't any left for husbands! I need to try and get cards earlier I guess. We then lounged on the sofa watching episodes of The Simpsons and then may or may not have enjoyed the waters of our bathtub . . . :o Scandalous, I know.

Anyway, it was a lovely evening and I couldn't have been more pleased with our choice to stay home instead of braving the stuffed restaurants. We'll have to go out some other evening instead when we get the hankering.

So, my readers, did you all have a good Valentines? Did you start any traditions with a loved one that you'll carry on to the next year? I'm always looking for some good traditions, that's what really makes a holiday special . . .

You are disturbing me with your bath talk. :P This is my brother we're talking about and I'm trying to keep my imagination at bay! *Scrubs brain off* I'm glad you had a lovely Valentines Day! Bryan was unfortunately gone on that day, but my little Valentine kept me company. Bryan was also sweet and had gourmet chocolate dipped strawberries delivered to me so the day wasn't a total bust even though my hubby was gone.

We probably didn't do anything . . .

Does that help? ;)

How darling of Bryan to send chocolate strawberries! Just as good as flowers imo.

Oh whaaa whaaa you have disturbed me plenty you :P Shall I tell them all? Hmmm guess not, but I will inform you at some point what you have done! :D Anyway surprise surprise... what was funny was seeing all the "stuff" going out the door at safeway... lots of flowers, cards, booze, chocolate and intimate essentials... gotta love this holiday huh?

Hmm. Micah, I have no idea what you are specifically referring to, but I will leave it to be said that it is probably normal for siblings to have scarred each other a time or too. Lucky for you though I don't write as openly about the intimate parts of my marriage - Jill's a little (lot lot) less shy than me! I mean, you know mom reads this, right? :P Maybe it's just me, but it horrifies me to think of my mother in law reading about anything related to my romance or sex life...(grosses self out...shudder) but that's just me and I'm a southern woman now and a huge prude about sharing. Not that what Jill has written is that bad or anything and I read racier posts by stranger bloggers talking about their marriages without blinking an eye all the time. But I'm not related to them and with relatives sometimes I'd rather know things go on without really 'knowing' how when and where. :P Dad has faulted here before once too when he decided to give me a sex/contaceptives talk at the age of 22 and he definitely deeeeefinitely scarred me a bit. :P So please save my imagination and while Jill, you are of course welcome to write about whaaaatever you feel like, write me a warning at the top of your post if you ever want to go into great, descriptive detail. Purty pleaaaaze? :D

Oh and I forgot to ask - Micah, does Safeway jack their flower prices a ton for Valentines Day?

Oh yah they do... it's disgusting what they do :P But then again... if people will pay it... we will charge it!
